Plate I

Where they stand

Circles are bridges, diamonds are monuments. Tap a marker or a name to jump to its plate.

Plate II

How tall, side by side

Every structure at one scale, in metres. For bridges the figure is the tallest tower or pylon, except Chenab, where it is the deck's height above the riverbed.

Plate III

Reach across the water

15 bridges ranked by their longest single span or by total length.

Plate IV

Twenty-three centuries of building

From Ashoka's stupa to the Chenab arch. The axis changes pace in four bands so the crowded recent decades stay readable.

Plates V–XIX

Bridges

Height above water against distance along the bridge. Long bridges show a window; drag the strip under the scene to travel along the full length. Vertical scale is exaggerated where noted.

Plates XX–XXXVIII

Monuments

19 elevations drawn to true scale and set in their surroundings. Visitors walk past at true size, and the white figure marks 1.7 m. Hover a part to identify it; the dashed line reads height. The Day, Sunset and Night buttons relight every scene.
